Google has recently launched Google Analytics 4.
Google Analytics 4 was known as “App + Web” previously. The current Analytics we use is called Universal Analytics.
As per Google, Analytics 4 is a new kind of property, that has different kinds of reports than Universal Analytics reports.
Google Analytics 4 property comes in handy in a way that it can be used for a website or an app, or even better: for both — whereas Universal Analytics (UA) properties only support websites.
When you open a new Google Analytics account, you’ll be asked to go through the account creation with Google Analytics 4 by default.
If you don’t see your Tracking ID, for e.g. UA-000000, in the “Admin->Properties” then you must have added the properties using Google Analytics 4 instead of a Universal Analytics(UA) property.
Solution
Just create a new Universal Analytics property using this step by step guide from Google.
Don’t worry about deleting the Google Analytics 4 property as Universal Analytics property and Google Analytics 4 property can coexist.
Pay attention to the “Show advanced options”, that’s where the option is to switch from Google Analytics 4 to Universal Analytics.
Here’s the screen capture from Google.
