SBDC Champaign Child Theme

SBDC Champaign Child Theme

SBDC website is few years old and uses a very popular theme. It was developed by a previous developer and I have made adjustments using a child theme. The original theme was outdated since it was tested upto PHP 5. So, I had to start from scratch to update the theme, WordPress, PHP and make everything work with each other smoothly. I had to change few functions manually to fix the slider and other issues.

Henry J. Smith Trust Site Child Theme

Henry J. Smith Trust Site Child Theme

Henry J. Smith Charitable Trust site uses a Divi parent theme. I have developed a child theme since the Divi theme doesn't allow injecting templates. Using the child theme, I created a few templates with dynamic flexible fields so that some of the contents can be dynamically made rather than Static Divi content.

Asset Management CMS - Createdbymw.com

Asset Management CMS - Createdbymw.com

This was very ambitious project since I needed to come up with a folder structure solution in WordPress backend using Advanced Custom Fields. This site was made for McKenzie Wagner so that they can manage their client's assets and clients can download the assets whenever needed. The whole page in the backend is a single page but in the frontend, it's been rendered as a folder structure. I have used PHP and JavaScript compilation to do so.

McKenzie Wagner Website

McKenzie Wagner Website

Their new website was not working when I joined and it was made using React Gatsby, Netlify and Wordpress. We didn't want to be depended on so many third party plugins to make the site functional. So, I moved the site to "normal" WordPress. It took me a few weeks to convert the React code into PHP.

At the end, it was even faster loading than the React Gatsby site. Google Lighthouse results were amazing.

The 200 Acres Website

The 200 Acres Website

I created this website from scratch -- a completely custom made theme in WordPress. It has tons of images on each page. To load the pages faster I am using lazy loading and webp images for all browsers except Safari.

There is a heavy usage of CSS Grid on all pages. The squiggly lines were a huge part of the branding and to place that on different elements was the toughest task to deal with.

I have also created custom PHP forms and email templates.

Regency Property 13 Websites Floor Plan Match Algorithm

All 13 websites were launched a few years back in WordPress. I added the recommended floor plan algorithm. It took me a couple of weeks to create the complete structure -- the frontend using JavaScript and CSS and the backend using PHP.

The algorithm takes many variables into consideration before suggesting a floor plan. For example, it asks for budget, pets, garage preference, floor preference and more. All the user inputs are being matched with Advanced Custom Fields data in the backend. It was a very challenging task.

I created this project during my grad school using pure css and HTML for most part and BootStrap for a few components.

It was really hard to make this website using just HTML and CSS, as even a small change in the header or footer takes lots of time because of having to change manually in each page.
